Is your vehicle really worth it?
Posted by admin | Filed under Austin
Worldwide, consumers’ hard earned money will go to both small and large auto repair. Austinis no different. With all of these auto repairs that can quickly creep up, many people are in a bind for cash and cannot fix their vehicle. It can make you wonder if the city bus is such a bad idea. Some of the most basic repairs are:
* Oil pump – $450
* Transmission – $2000
* Starter – $305
* A/C compressor – $750
According to the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, owning a car is the largest household expense in the United States. The only thing that costs more is your home! So with all of the cost that a car entails, is it really worth it?
Many think a motorcycle is the answer to their prayers. On average, they are a cheaper vehicle to buy. But motorcycle repair is still costly:
* Fuel tank – $800
* Electrical – $1000
* Wheel bearings – $275
* Steering – $500
These are the true cost of motorcycle maintenance and motorcycle repair in Austin, TX; repairs can be made to both types of vehicles in some shops. But, in others, you are limited to what a shop can work on (motorcycle vs. automobile). No matter what you decide to drive, you may be in for large bills in the future.
Other Vehicle Repairs
Car repair and motorcycle repair are not the only costs drivers have to worry about. These are daily vehicles that get you from point A to point B. But some vehicles are just for fun, like a four wheeler. That doesn’t mean it is without cost though. Four wheeler repair can take a large chunk out of your budget. It makes it even worse when the four wheeler is just for fun and does not actually serve another purpose at your home. It is a high price to pay for a toy.
Despite the need to get around, vehicles can prove to be more trouble than they are worth. Not only do you have to pay for the repairs, but you are also without your primary source of transportation while it is in the shop. This can leave many drivers desperate and can affect your personal and professional life.
Society has become dependent on these vehicles as their daily tool, and they are so easy to use that they would be very hard to give up. But keep in mind, the city bus is always waiting. In Austin a single bus ride is $1.00. A month long pass is $30.00. With these rates, buying a month long pass every month for a year would only total $360. You wouldn’t have to buy a vehicle and you would never have to pay for vehicle repairs.
This may be the best choice for some people, but others just want their own form of transportation no matter what the costs may be.
